Born in Sydney, Australia, Sharon studied fine art (painting and printmaking) at the National Art School and visual communication (design) at Sydney College of the Arts in Sydney, Australia.

In 2017 Sharon completed the MA Visual Arts: Printmaking at the Camberwell College of Arts, University of the Arts, London (UAL).

Other studies in the UK include the Diploma in Portraiture from The Heatherley School of Fine Art, short courses in life painting and drawing at the Slade School of Fine Art, University College, London (UCL), bookbinding and artist books at the City Literary Institute and Morley College.

Prior to moving to London, Sharon Low was an artist, designer, illustrator, art and music teacher in Australia, where she also studied English literature and Education at the University of New England, and music education at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

Current research and work is in the fields of culture, society, identity and language, with a focus on migration and diaspora.
